When something is not linking

Work down this list. It is ordered by how often each thing is the answer.

The keyword is not on the page in that form

The most common one by far.

Your keyword is "standing desk", the post says "standing desks". We match the phrase you gave us. Add the plural as its own keyword.

Open the post and search the page for your exact phrase. If your browser cannot find it, neither can we.

It is only in a heading

We do not link inside h1, h2 or h3, ever. If the only place "standing desk" appears is the heading, nothing will link. Mention it once in a paragraph.

The link or keyword is not active

Both have a status. An inactive keyword, or a keyword attached to an inactive link, does nothing. Check both — it is easy to deactivate one and forget the other.

The keyword is not attached to a link

A keyword on its own is just a phrase. It does nothing until you attach it to a link. Keywords → the keyword → attach a link.

The domain is not registered, or is over the limit

Check Settings → Domains. If the site you are looking at is not listed, we will not serve links to it.

If you have more sites than your plan allows, some of them are inactive. The domains screen shows which.

Caching

We cache for a short while, and your own site or CDN caches too. If you just made a change, give it a minute and reload with a hard refresh.

If your site is behind Cloudflare or a caching plugin and the change still has not appeared after a few minutes, clear that cache.

A longer keyword won

You have "desk" and "standing desk", and the post says "standing desk". You get one link, on the longer phrase. Working as intended — see How linking works.

Another plugin is linking first

If ThirstyAffiliates or Pretty Links is active with autolinking on, it may have already turned the phrase into its own link. Two auto-linkers on one site fight. Pick one.

The script is not loading

Open your browser's developer tools, look at the Network tab, reload, and search for tracker.

• Not there at all — the script tag is missing from the page. Check it is in your theme, or that the plugin is connected.
• There, but blocked — an ad blocker or consent manager is stopping it. Try in a private window with extensions off.
• There and loading fine, but nothing links — go back to the top of this page; it is almost certainly the keyword.

Get in touch with the URL of a page where you expect a link and the keyword you expect to see. That is enough for us to reproduce it, and it is much faster than a description.
